Content with being a Loser and NaNoWriMo

So we didn’t get picked for #PitchWars.

I think we saw the writing on the wall pretty early on, when it was, and has always been, radio silence.

I’m disappointed, sure. I would have loved to have a mentor, a built-in support team, and a leg up in this business as a writer. But, this was the first book we’ve ever written. We wrote it just a few months ago.

Maybe we have to put in our time.

Maybe we need to pay dues.

Maybe we need to find those mentors and support teams for ourselves. I mean, we should, definitely do that, but sometimes this business is fucking daunting.

We are participating in our first NaNoWriMo. It’s going. I don’t know if we will meet our goal, but it’s been great to connect with other participants in our area and to have a goal looming over us, driving us.

So we’re trying new things. Participating in other awards. Getting out there.

Losing upwards.
